Whistleblowing

Speak up if something doesn't look right. We protect anyone who reports suspected misconduct in good faith — in confidence, and without fear of reprisal.

Our commitment

Integrity is not negotiable

U&I Microfinance Bank holds itself to the highest standards of honesty and integrity in everything we do. We depend on our employees, customers, suppliers and partners to help us live up to that standard, and we treat every report of possible misconduct with the seriousness it deserves. This policy exists to make raising a concern simple, safe, and free of consequence for the person doing the right thing.

What this policy guarantees

Every report is taken seriously — and every reporter is protected

1. Report a concern without fear of victimisation or unfair treatment.
2. Good-faith reports are protected, even if the concern turns out to be mistaken.
3. Every report is handled with strict confidentiality.
4. Several channels are available, so you can report in whichever way feels safest.
5. Credible reports are investigated fairly, promptly and thoroughly.
6. The Bank and its stakeholders are shielded from the financial and reputational harm that misconduct causes.
What to report

Any conduct that puts the Bank, our customers, or our people at risk

You don't need proof — a reasonable, good-faith suspicion is enough for us to look into it.

If you're raising a concern

What we ask of you

  • Report in good faith, based on what you reasonably believe to be true.
  • Share as much detail and evidence as you reasonably can.
  • Let the compliance team investigate rather than probing it yourself.
  • Come forward even without proof — reasonable suspicion is enough.
In return

What the Bank commits to

  • Acknowledge and assess every report we receive.
  • Investigate promptly, fairly and in confidence.
  • Protect your identity to the fullest extent the law allows.
  • Keep you informed of the outcome, where appropriate.
