U&I Deposit Taking Micro Finance Bank Limited regulated by Central Bank of Kenya invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:-

1. IT MANAGER

Duties and responsibilities  

System Implementation and Administration

 ICT System Project Management/Administration

 ICT Policies formulation and implementation

 Microfinance System Administration

 Database Administration (Ms SQL Server)

Server Administration

 Reports Generation (Both ICT and Banking Reports)

 Network Administration

 IT implementation and support.

 Central Bank Requirements system compliance

 LAN basic maintenance and support

 Website maintenance

 Data management, analysis and support

general training and support of staff on ICT matters

 Ability to structure and manage a large network of system based activity gadgets e.g. pads,POS, ATMs, Pcs,

 Knowledge of cloud computing

 Hardware maintenance and support. Trouble shooting and support

 Responsibility for SLA’s and AMC’s

 

Qualifications and competencies

 Degree in IT or Computer Science

 Diploma in IT or Computer Science plus 3 years proved working experience in ICT department preferably in a financial institution.

 Be detailed and have strong analytical and monitoring skills

 Highly motivated and have the ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people

 Be honest and reliable

 Have good communication skills

 EXPERIENCE

To be considered, applicant must have at least 5 years working experience as an ICT Officer, with proven management abilities, product development and integration capabilities and IT strategy development exposure, preferably in a financial services environment. He or she must also have a proven track record in innovation, backed by a solution development record.

The person must be willing to work in performance based environment, with specific goals.  RESPONSIBILITY AND REPORTING LINE

 The right candidate will have overall responsibility for managing the ICT function, and in addition, will be charged with implementation of ICT strategy, defining the use of information and technology to drive products and business value and mining the market for business opportunities in linkages with mobile providers, payment services providers, other financial service providers including ATMs, POS, retail chains and the public sector, including County Governments.

 The position reports  to the CEO

 

2. Operations  Manager

Duties:

  • Management of the front office services including account opening, cashiering and customer service.

The job holder must be fully conversant with cashiering services, both front and back office, including cash reconciliation, vault handling and dual custody requirements. The holder must also be fully familiar with all KYC requirements and capable of making independent decisions at the customer entry level.

  • Holders will also be expected to have basic understanding of AML requirements and procedures.
  • The holder should be able to double up in support activities including deposit mobilization, product sales, field activities and customer acquisition.

 Qualifications

  •  Minimum of a degree in business, accounting, finance or related fields.

 In addition persons with additional professional qualifications like ACIB, AKIB, CPA or Diploma in Microfinance or Co-operative Services will have an added advantage.

  • Non degree holder with extensive experience in banking and Microfinance bank deposit taking operations and front office operations training will be considered.

Experience

 A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience 2 of which must be in a deposit taking environment will be required.

Persons without the above qualifications but with 10 years or more on the job experience and over 5 years supervisory experience will be considered

 Personal Traits:

Job holder should be a pleasant individual who is well balanced and able to operate under demanding conditions. The job holder should be patient, thorough and with good negotiation skills.

 Performance Contract:
The holder will be on a performance contract with annual breaks and employee will be well rewarded upon meeting and exceeding set goals.Position requires high level of trust and integrity and an entirely clean record and history is a must.
